Why hello, and welcome to the baby that is my baking blog!
Most people are fortunate enough to know me as Grace Elisabeth, that red-headed tart who has an unhealthy obsession with aprons, rubber spatulas, RDJ, and anything baking related. To the left is me in one of my favourite aprons, before I went and cut all my hair off… but let us not go there.
As this blog quite possibly suggests, I have a keen interest in baking and prefer to spend as much time in the kitchen as possible. That being said, I am still quite the amateur so you will not be seeing anything too extravagant or professional on here… yet. This is just a collection of recipes that have successfully arisen from haphazardly throwing a few ingredients together. My scales are old, frighteningly inaccurate, and would probably cause Martha Stewart to faint… but that does not stop me.
I am not ashamed to say that I sometimes consider life as a housewife to be a dream, and I willingly adorn all kinds of aprons. A novel goal of mine is to own as many aprons so as to be able to wear a different one for each day of the year. You are more than welcome to assist me in achieving this.
When I am not baking, I am working my little butt off in order to fuel my baking addiction… which has become a bitter sweet reality because more money means more baking, but the more I work the less time and energy I have for baking! But never fear, it takes a lot to come between my oven and I… so much so that I could almost guarantee I am still going to be whipping up a batch of cupcakes when that inevitable apocalypse happens and I have zombies slobbering at my window. Everyone needs a little cupcake love in their life, zombies included.
With all that in mind, I shall aim to have one day a week where my energies will be focused on nothing other than baking… well, except perhaps on breathing too. As confident as I am in myself and my baking capabilities, I dare say my level of talent will differ slightly when dead, though it would be pretty cool to join the zombie ranks… but for now, enjoying life and having something new and delicious to post every Monday will just have to do! And I’m cool with that.
